Recipe: White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie Mix In A Jar


1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts — part can be almonds
3 1.4 ounce Nestles White Crunch candy bars — coarsely chopped
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder together.

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart “wide mouth” canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place (press the crunch bar pieces in VERY hard) before adding each ingredient.

Write the following directions on a card:

Empty cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix. Add: 1 stick butter or margarine, not diet, very soft.
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla (opt)

Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. It will take a while to mix into a smooth dough. Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2″ apart on sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes until tops are very lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Remove to racks to finish cooling.

Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

2 cup All purpose flour
1 tsp Salt

To the ribbon attach a card with these directions:

Recipe: Scottish Shortbread Mix In A Jar

Recipe: Scottish Shortbread Mix In A Jar


1 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
3/4 cup Powdered sugar
1/4 tsp Salt

In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients, blending well. Store in an airtight container.

Attach this to the Jar:

Scottish Shortbread Makes 16 pieces

1 cup butter, softened
1 package Scottish Shortbread Mix

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Knead the butter into the shortbread mix and press the mixture firmly into an 8-inch pie plate, or shortbread mold. Bake for 1 hour. The shortbread should be pale in color, not browned. Cut into wedges while still warm.
