Butter Cookie Recipes

Recipe: Original Peanut Butter Cookies
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. peanut butter
Combine and sift flour, baking
soda and salt. Cream shortening
and sugars together. Add eggs and
mix until smooth. Add peanut
butter. Stir well. Add vanilla and
blend thoroughly. Add dry
ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Batter will be stiff. Form into
tiny balls, place on greased
baking sheet. Press with back of
fork to make a waffle design. Bake
at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Yield
about 7 1/2 dozen.
