Something that’s still in line with Thanksgiving but is a bit different that people will really enjoy.

It’s a dessert but is SO good that people will ask you for the recipe!

Pumpkin Mousse
2 small packets of Vanilla instant pudding (I use Jello instant pudding)
2 cups of cold milk (I use skim to cut the calories)
1 can of pumpkin
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 cup Cool Whip

Mix together the first 4 ingredients, about 2 minutes until blended. Fold in Cool Whip. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until firmer. Serve topped with a dollop of Cool Whip. Makes about 8 one half cup servings.

You need to find out what everyone else will be bringing so that yours is a nice contrast, then start planning, though I’d go for spicy spring rolls to nibble before the meal.

Aww babe…I’m not really up with the whole Thanksgiving tradition because we don’t celebrate it over here. All I know is that Turkey’s this time of year are starting to $ hit themselves!!

My suggestion would be a nice dessert of some kind…maybe a Tiramisu or a chocolate mousse, or of course a cake.

Sorry, I am not much help for you on this one..but I can tell you, a sweet dish will always be admired and will receive the “WOW” factor!

I find a homemade carrot cake, the simplest cake to make and homemade or bought cream cheese icing. I take a heaping tbls of icing and mix red &yellow food colouring in it and draw carrots of the finished cake, the another tbls of icing and add green food colouring to make carrot leaves. Real pretty, easy and always a great success. Mix 2 cups wite sugar, 2 cups white flour 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder (optional) 2 tsp. cinnamon in one bowl. Grate or shred 3 cups of carrots (about 5 or 6) In second bowl put 1 cup oil, 4 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, add your carrots, 1 cup walnuts and a pinch of salt. Mix this mixture up , add to your first mixture. Pour into baking pan. Bake 325 for 1 hour. Remove and cool. Ice the cake. 8 0z. cream cheese, 1/2 cup margarine or butter, 3 1/2 cups of icing sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tbls orange juice concentrate or marmalade (optional). I know this will be a great success.
