Q&A: is there any way to make my already made no bake cookies harden?

Question by ihill1946: is there any way to make my already made no bake cookies harden?
I made no bake cookies last night and they will not set up. Can I reheat them and add more oats?

Add some flour. This will bring the dough together better without too many hard oats. Just be sure to mix well to incorporate. You can also use crushed cereal, like Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Chex, Cookie Crisp (basically anything you have/want). This will add a bit more sweetness, and you won’t have to worry about mixing it in perfectly.

Q&A: Is there a way to make Low Fat dog treats?

Question by Ammie: Is there a way to make Low Fat dog treats?
Most of my other Yahoo questions have been about my dog. He is 14 pounds (only supposed to weigh 9) I recently cut back his food. Before he was a free-feader and that seems to have really “packed on his pounds” I have taken away most treats except for veggies. I want to know if there are any LOW FAT dog treat recipes that I can use at home.

Awwww, we have the same problem with our kitty cat and would love to find some healthy, low fat treats for her too. Anyway, you might want to try these:

~LOW FAT DOG COOKIES~

Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups of hot water

1-1/2 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon powder

3 tablespoons olive oil

3-1/2 cups whole wheat flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/2 cup celery, finely chopped

1/2 cup shredded carrots

1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped

Optional: 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or 1 finely minced clove) *see note below

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix hot water, oil and bouillon powder. Add flour, cornmeal and vegetables and mix well. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a minute or two. Roll out to 1/4″ thick.

Cut into shapes (I used an inverted glass dipped in flour, then cut the circle in two to make half moon shapes) but bone-shaped cookies are cute.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degree for 30 minutes.

Let cool – even though your dog will probably be winding around your feet from the time you take the cookies out of the oven. Makes about 3-4 dozen cookies, depending on the size you cut. Store in the fridge, in an air tight container.

Q&A: is there a way to add protein powder to Oatmeal Cookies?

Question by Branden: is there a way to add protein powder to Oatmeal Cookies?
Hi all,

Is there a way that i can add protein powder to the Quaker Oatmeal Cookies recipe without messing up the consistency?
Thank you, Cordelia!

Answer by Cordeila
How much are you planning to add? If it’s only a teaspoon or two, it shouldn’t affect it. You may want to add just a touch more vanilla or other liquid to balance it out, though.
