3. Refrigerate dough, covered, several hours.

4. Preheat oven to 300 F.

5. Divide dough into 2 parts. Refrigerate until ready until ready to roll out.

6. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, one part at a time, 1 /2 inch thickness.

7. Using 1 1/2 or 2 inch star shoped cookie cutter, cut out cookies. Place, 1 inch apart, on ungreased cookie sheet.

8. Bake cookies 25 minutes, or until light golden. Remove to wire rack; cool.

Q&A: Will lofthouse style cookies make it in the mail?

Question by IloveCandy04: Will lofthouse style cookies make it in the mail?
I am sending lofthouse-style cookies to my boyfriend who lives 3 1/2 hours away. If you don’t know what Lofthouse cookies are, look them up so you understand my concern. They are very soft cookies (but they don’t seem to break unless you bite one) and are probably the most popular cookie in your local grocery store’s bakery department. I’m concerned if they will be crumbled when they arrive or not. I figure since the trip isn’t too far they should be okay.

Package them in sandwich bags, maybe 6 or so per bag, then put them in a box with plenty of padding. If you don’t have any packing peanuts, you could use un-buttered popcorn or crumpled paper for cushioning. The bags will keep them fresh and the packaging will keep them from getting broken.
