Question by Lids: Kids Easter games anyone??
Ok, on Sunday it is suppose to be cold here, so we were wondering if there are any good games we could play with the kids with winning prizes/eggs indoors….any ideas?

First and foremost, an Easter egg hunt is a must and this is still doable even indoors. Fill plastic eggs with small toys, jelly beans and candies. Make about 12 per guest (color code them so guests hunt for their very own color) to make it fair so everyone gets the same number of eggs. As an added extra we hide a lucky egg with a dollar in it.

Other Easter games include:

Keep or Choose Game

A fun game that makes all the guests have a great time. Buy a selection of prizes (a Dollar store is great for these). Wrap each one separately and tie with a ribbon. Stack the gifts on the floor. Give each child a plastic egg with a number in it. If you have twelve guests, for example, you’ll have twelve numbers. The guests open their eggs up and then go in order of the numbers — No. 1 is first to select any gift and opens it. No. 2 then has the option of selecting an un-opened gift or taking the gift from No. 1. If No. 1′s gift is taken, he/she selects an un-opened gift and unwraps it for everyone to see. Guest No. 3 then can select from the un-opened pile of gifts or can take a gift from either No. 1 or No. 2. The game continues until all the guests have opened a gift. To end the game, Guest No. 1 gets to pick any gift he/she wants and trades with that person. Truly a fun game that drives everyone wild!

Egg Roll

Set up a “finish line” at the end of a room. Create two teams of children. First child and/or adult in each team must push a plastic egg on the floor with their noses. When they reach the finish line, the child and/or stands up, picks up the plastic egg and runs back to the next person on their team. Play continues until everyone on a team has rolled the egg with their nose — they are the winners! Mind you children love the nose pushing and adults rather walk with an egg on a spoon.

Where’s My Egg?

Using a permanent marking pen, personalize plastic eggs and fill with candy. Hide these eggs in the yard or around the house or a set room in the house and tell the children they must find only the egg with their name on it.

Some other Easter ideas include:

Having a bunny fashion show or providing you guest with such fun activities for your party guests of any age to make and show off.

Bunny Noses

Provide each guest with a cup from an egg carton, leaving a tab of extra material on one side for teeth. Trim the cups edges and let them paint the teeth white, drawing a black gap between them, add a pom-pom for nose, pipe cleaners for whiskers ( poke holes on either side of the nose with a pencil and insert.) Add an elastic band knotted through hole on cup.

Bunny Ears

Provide guests with white and pink construction paper to cut out ears and glue to a headband. Let them use decorative scissors, sequins, felt, buttons, etc. to create their very own ears!

Bunny Hats

Provide guests with inexpensive straw sun hats, visors, bonnets and a variety of decorative items (buttons, ribbons, bows, flowers, etc. and glue).

paaatches –There is also a thought or rather idea of having a Easter fest exchange whether that be bunny shaped cake, carrot cake, bunny shaped cookies and so forth. My family does the whole Hot Cross Bun thing where each participant brings enough hot cross buns to trade and sample during the gathering. The hostess usually establishes the number of hot cross buns to bring prior to sending out invitations. This depends on the number of persons expected to attend. We tend to and this is while making the guest list to take a verbal poll to determine the expected response. Anyhow, in the end guests pick up their bags filled with hot cross buns after sampling and choosing a winner for best baked hot cross buns. It’s always fun to see how creatively guests wrap their hot cross buns as well. I’ve seen everything from paper plates or bowls, foil-covered cardboard, baskets, ribbons and colored cellophane.

You can get cat, witch hat, etc cookie cutters in your local cooking or hobby store. Or you can make regular round cookies, make orange frosting, and pipe pumpkin faces on them with decorating icing. Or spiders.
