Is it possible to change a sugar cookie dough from the store into butter cookie dough?

Question by tropikanagirl: Is it possible to change a sugar cookie dough from the store into butter cookie dough?
I bought sugar cookie dough from the store and no one in my house likes it except for my son. I wanted to know if there was something I could do with the dough at home to change it into a butter cookie dough. Some type of ingredients I could add to it to change it to a butter cookie dough.

Thanks!!

I don’t see why not, if you are willing to let your family be the guinea pigs….I would add about a cup of flour and maybe a stick of buttter to the package, maybe an egg just for fun and see what happens!!!!

Can you use packaged cookie dough in a cookie press?

Question by Happenstance: Can you use packaged cookie dough in a cookie press?
I’ve had bad luck before with packaged cake mixes doing a bad job in specialty pans so I’m concerned with packaged cookie ruining my cookie press.
Does anyone know if packaged cookie dough (like in a tube) will just cause a mess? or will the cookies be fine?

This doesn’t use cookie dough or brownie mix but it’s the closest think I’ve seen. You could add your dried cherries in with this. http://www.recipegoldmine.com/cookcutQ/rainbow-cookies.html
