Q&A: What’s the difference between a Blondie, brownie, and chocolate chip cookie bar?

Question by Ashley: What’s the difference between a Blondie, brownie, and chocolate chip cookie bar?
I’ve been looking at the recipes… It looks exactly like a chocolate chip recipe but with no chocolate chips. Is that how it’s supposed to be? Or is it more dense like a brownie? Because I already make my chocolate chip cookies on one big pan and cut them into squares like brownies, just because I can’t get the cookie shapes off of the cookie sheets. Would making a blondie essentially be the same thin but with no chocolate chips? Thank you!!!

What is the difference between butter-cookies and short-breads?

Question by nikitathegirl: What is the difference between butter-cookies and short-breads?

Best answer:

Basically a shortbread is a cookie made of flour, sugar, and much butter or other shortening.

So, really isn’t a difference when compared to a butter cookie as long as that butter cookie is basic.

I like the website Allrecipes.com when I’m looking for a recipe for something. People post reviews of the recipes, so you know what works and what doesn’t work about it, and which ones are most popular. I posted a link to a popular soft cutout sugar cookie recipe from that website (which people seem to love!). I have not tried this one, but I may make some this evening!
Happy baking!

German anise cookies are hard; Italian anise cookies, also called “wedding cookies”, are cake-like. There is a Mexican version, too, that is like the Italian version.
