Q&A: Homemade cookie dough been sitting out for 45 minutes, is it okay?

Question by Rockstar Sammie: Homemade cookie dough been sitting out for 45 minutes, is it okay?
I slowly made a bowl of lemon cookie dough. I put the first sheet in the top oven and another in the lower. But I forgot to set the lower oven. So with 25 minute prep time (Yeah of I said I was slow) of it sitting there and 20 minutes, that is 45 minutes. It only has one egg in it though and that is the only thing I could see being troublesome.
I am baking them now, so I just wanted to know if it was that harmful to eat them after they come out.

Sorry, I don’t bake much :)

  1. nursegranny says:

    it should be fine.

  2. Anna says:

They should be absolutely fine, some recipes require you to leave eggs sitting out on your counter for hours in order to go to room temperature, so leaving cookie dough out for forty-five minutes won’t have a harmful effect on the cookies. :) happy baking
