Q&A: Anyone have a recipe for chocolate cookies?

Question by Kayla: Anyone have a recipe for chocolate cookies?
Not chocolate chip cookies, just chocolate cookies. I have cocoa powder, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, almond extract. And all the other usual stuff. I was planning on putting my own spin on chocolate cookies but I can’t find a recipe for plain chocolate cookies. Anybody have one they’d be willing to share? Thanks!

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup baking cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1.) In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
2.) Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle.
3.) Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork if desired.
4.) Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm. Remove to wire racks. If you want, you can dust the cookies with confectioners sugar.

Hope this helped! :) By the way, these cookies are super soft if that’s what you’re looking for!

Cream together butter and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy, using an elec.mixer at med. speed. Blend in vanilla.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, blending well. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Arrange 9 balls in a ring on 10-inch round of cardboard covered with wax paper. Place cardboard on an inverted saucer in microwave oven. Microwave on high setting 1 minute. Rotate cardboard one-quarter turn. Microwave 1 minute more or until cookies are set. Let stand 2 minutes. Slide wax paper and cookies from cardboard to counter. Cool completely on counter. Repeat with remaining dough. When cool, sprinkle cookies with confectioners’ sugar. Makes 3 dozen.
