I’ve never tried the recipe with brown sugar so I’m not sure what the effect might be.     I would NOT suggest that you use the packs. The packs may have additional ingredients that could throw the recipe off. Check the packs. If the ingredients include only rolled oats it may work but I’m still not sure how many packs it would take since I don’t have the packs in front of me.

    Plus I want to add that the oatmeal without cooking or baking is pretty chewy, we need to get used to the texture. It is also sticky like anything gluten free and the crushed walnuts help to keep it less sticky. I also put a batch into the fridge, one in the freezer and one was left on the counter. Cooling it made it easier to pick up and the frozen batch had the best texture. I put all of the cookies on parchment paper to make sure they stay separated. Nice flavor. Balls were not easy to make.

    I made the cookies. They are very tasty. I used almond milk and Becel pro-active calorie reduced margarine because we are dairy free too. I also had to make the nut cream because nutella has milk in it. I used hazelnut butter and dari-free chocolate powder milk alternative – all gluten free; I mixed up these until I got the right flavor and used instead of the nutella. So for those who wonder what can be substituted, if you can eat oatmeal and hazelnuts, you can pretty much get the same flavor.

    It never occurred to me to eat oatmeal raw. I thought it had to be cooked or baked. I will have to try this. The picture looks good. I am struggling to find good tasty recipes without egg, milk, soy and gluten. We have oats but didn’t have any ideas for it.
