How to make cookies without margarine, butter and vanilla extract?

Question by Phoebe: How to make cookies without margarine, butter and vanilla extract?
I am really bored and want to bake cookies. But the only problem is that I don’t have margarine, butter, and vanilla extract. Any of you have ideas for cookies without these ingredients i don’t have?

I don’t have a recipe off the top of my head. But if you have applesauce or canned pumpkin (or fruit baby food) and it’s a cakey sort of cookie, you can use that instead of shortening. Put in some spices or citrus zest to make up for not having vanilla.

Edited to add: Oh, and peanut butter is a good substitute, too, for up to one-half of the shortening, if it’s something that would taste good with peanut butter. I’m sure by now you’ve found something to do if you were bored earlier. :)

use apple sauce instead of the oils. half apple sauce to the oils you leave out. sprinkle cinnamon instead of vanilla. you could use apple sauce flavored with cinnamon.

    try strawberry jam and chocolates

  3. alc0035 says:

    Peanut butter cookies

    1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar ( I sometimes use half brown and half regular sugar)
    1 egg

    I mix, chill, and bake
