How can I sub chocolate candy bars for cocoa powder in recipes for cake/cookies?

Question by solor: How can I sub chocolate candy bars for cocoa powder in recipes for cake/cookies?
My question originally got deleted?! Before I could write down the answer, and I’d appreciate anyone answering this for me again?

I’d like to use Candy bars (regular eating kind), in place of expensive cocoa powder used in many recipes. How do I do this?

Thanks

you really can’t. You would have to take out some of the sugar, the liquids etc. Either get some cocoa, or find another recipe

  1. TheMommy/ask no ?'s get no l says:

start with your butter but use a little less…melt your chocolate, and then cool it down…add to butter then sugar and blend and the rest of your ingredients you will have to add a wee bit more flour…but if you play with it enough you can perfect it.
