It’s debated the true origins of the modern fortune cookie, but it really didn’t come from either China or Japan. It was originated in the US,in California, but I don’t think they are certain to exactly who invented it.It’s likely it could have been a Chinese-American or Japanese-American,but technically, the fortune cookie’s birthplace was in the US.

Who makes up the “fortunes” in the Chinese fortune cookies?

Question by rp: Who makes up the “fortunes” in the Chinese fortune cookies?
Last Friday I ate at a Chinese resturant. My fortune cookie said “something you have long awaited for will come to pass soon.” Then I went home and settled down in front of SciFi and found out that there was a new Highlander TV movie coming out…. which I got very excited about. So in a way it was like my fortune came true!

So I wonder, who makes up these fortunes, and do you think we could get them to be a little more precise. Because what if it wasn’t my thrill of seeing Duncan McCloud again, but I have some other something I have long awaited for coming true soon……
