I am about to make oatmeal cookies and i have every ingredient except for butter. I was wondering if you can replace butter with anything else like oil or something. I am clueless when it comes to cooking. Thanks!

You can replace it with vegetable oil.

    if the recipe does NOT call for oil, don’t use it!!

    you can use butter, margarine or shortening interchangably in cookie recipes.

    I use peanut butter in oatmeal cookies instead of the butter or shortening. Makes them taste fantastic! My hubby liked oatmeal cookies but adores the ones with peanut butter instead of butter in them.
