Can I use steel-cut oats rather than rolled oats in oatmeal cookies?

Question by Linwë L: Can I use steel-cut oats rather than rolled oats in oatmeal cookies?
I have a cannister of McCann’s Steel-Cut Irish Oatmeal, would I be able to use these in basic oatmeal cookies?

Easy ten points for all you cooks out there :]

No, steel cut oats will not work in cookies—they will be hard coming out of the oven.

No. The steel cut oats are much to hard to make cookies out of.
They will not absorb the moisture as the rolled oats do.
